Seed-to-Skin Skincare: Slow Beauty with Herbs and Plants

Seed-to-skin skincare isn’t just a tagline, it’s a philosophy. Our botanical skincare line grows from the ground up, honoring nature’s rhythms, nurturing every plant from seed, and harvesting at the moment of peak potency. Each product is a reflection of the care, energy, and intention poured into it, creating skincare that supports both skin and soul.

Sowing Seeds of Thyme

What Makes Our Botanical Skincare Different

Our approach is rooted in harmony with the Earth. Many of our plants are grown from seed on our land, while others, impossible to cultivate here, are sourced from trusted small organic farms across Europe. We know each plant as an ally: its scent, feel, energy, and growth habits. By honouring these botanicals, we ensure every ingredient is fresh, potent, and aligned with our slow beauty philosophy.

Unlike mass-produced or generic natural skincare, our line is intentionally crafted. Each product is made with ingredients that are traceable, ethically sourced, and full of life. It’s about quality, not quantity, potency over marketing.

Amongst the Abundance

Growing, Nurturing, and Harvesting: Timing Matters

Every step in cultivating our plants is intentional. From the geometry of the seed to the feel of its first leaves, we observe and respond to the needs of each botanical. Following wisdom passed down by traditional herbalists, and expanding on it through experience, we grow a wide variety of herbs to support human health and beauty.

Timing is sacred:

  • Sowing & Transplanting: On the New Moon, when energy holds potential for dreams and growth. Seedlings sown now are vibrant, resilient, and full of life.
  • Harvesting: On the Full Moon or on specific days aligned with plant energetics:
    • Monday (Moon) – Marshmallow
    • Tuesday (Mars) – Nettle
    • Wednesday (Mercury) – Lavender, Fennel
    • Thursday (Jupiter) – Chicory
    • Friday (Venus) – Rose
    • Saturday (Saturn) – Comfrey
    • Sunday (Sun) – St. John’s Wort

This ritual honours the cosmic dance, acknowledging that planetary rhythms influence life on Earth, and in turn, the potency of every plant.

Our Hero Herbs: Calendula, Rose, Chickweed, and Plantain

Some botanicals are at the heart of our skincare:

  • Calendula: Long trusted as a healing ally, it soothes, repairs, and calms any skin concern.
  • Rose: Gentle, calming, and toning; its essence encourages self-love and balance.
  • Chickweed: A powerful antipruritic herb, perfect for eczema- or psoriasis-prone skin.
  • Plantain: Strengthening and regenerative, reducing rashes, hives, and stings quickly.

These herbs form the foundation of our products, teas, and daily tonics, supporting skin health from the inside out.

Connecting Skin to Nature: Seed-to-Skin Rituals

Our seed-to-skin approach fosters trust and transparency. Customers know our plants are grown in nutrient-rich soil, carefully harvested, and transformed into oils, hydrosols, and glycerites that maintain their vitality. Feedback confirms that these products resolve minor skin issues while fitting seamlessly into daily rituals, reminding us that healthy skin reflects inner well-being.

Slow Beauty vs. Mainstream Skincare

Mainstream cosmetics often rely on synthetic chemicals, preservatives, fragrances, and hormone-disrupting ingredients. Even high-priced brands may overwhelm with overly complex routines. Our philosophy is simple: effective, minimal, and intentional.

  • Olive oil: Extra virgin, organic, and award-winning, olive oil has been a cornerstone of Mediterranean skincare for millennia, from Egyptian queens to Greek and Roman women. Rich in antioxidants like oleocanthal, it nourishes and protects skin naturally.
  • Tallow: A traditional European herbalist favourite, tallow forms the base of many of our salves and balms. Nicholas Culpeper, in The Complete Herbal, recommended tallow with comfrey and calendula for healing skin ailments, a tradition that continues in our family.

Infusing our slow-grown herbs into these trusted carriers ensures every product is potent, effective, and nurturing.
